Brewster Lake

Brewster Lake

Brewster Lake, with it’s views of glacier topped mountains in the distance, is one of my favorite lakes on the Sayward Forest Canoe Circuit. There are several gorgeous off-road camp sites to choose from and four drive in recreation sites. I like to start the Sayward Forest Canoe Circuit at the North end of Brewster Lake, off Brewster Main, thereby cutting about 1 km off the longest portage on the circuit (2.3 km). Unfortunately, because of it’s proximity to Campbell River, Brewster Lake can be a busy place in the summer months, especially on weekends.

Direction: From Campbell River, head north on Highway 19. Turn left onto Menzies Mainline (gravel road), roughly 14.5 km or 15 minutes out of town. Drive for another 16 km (25 minutes) to the turn-off to Brewster Lake Recreation Site (signed).
